There are more Bouviers carelessly called white than there are actual white Bouviers. White is not a disqualifying color (as stated) but highly penalized.
White is under debate by some regarding health issues that may be linked to the coat color. In many European countries, neither fawns nor whites are recognized coat colors due to the concern for possible health-linked issues.
It’s difficult to get a valid scientific study of any issues linked to Bouviers as it is hard to get a pool to study, over time, that is significant in numbers to constitute reliable data.
Many inherited characteristics (health, temperament, physical traits, presumed skills/aptitudes) are based on anecdotal evidence and club experience.
