Shana is a Bouvier breed preservationist; she draws on her skills from her prior career as a teacher and university administrator: researching, writing, teaching, organizing, collaborating and speaking. Shana says she is living her best life!

Ashley is a nurse by profession, an equestrian and canine authority by total immersion. With decades of experience training GSD, Malinois, Dutch Shepherds and Bouviers for basic obedience and protection sports, Ashley is an expert on pre-socialization, nutrition and Volhard's Temperament Testing.

Trooper Williams is a former canine officer, current State Police (SP) sergeant. Trooper Williams is a protection sport dog trainer experienced with GSD, Malinois, Dutch Shepherds and Bouviers. --And if you need to practice taking a "bite outta crime," Kevin is a former intermediate Protection Sports Association decoy.

While we use many different vets, with different specialties, across Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Dr. Voelkl is our go-to expert for all things reproductive.  Dr. Voelkl received her  (DVM) from Cornell University. She completed the first year of a residency in comparative theriogenology (reproduction) at the University of Minnesota and the final two years at the New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, she operates a working sheep farm and enjoys training and competing in canine agility trials.

In the mid-1980s, Rose Ellen moved next door to Belco Farm and worked as Miss Bowles' Whelping Master continuing the decades-long traditional Bouvier lines of du Clos des Cerberes. Connecting with Rose Ellen has richly enhanced not only our breeding practices at House Of Bouvs, but Rose Ellen brings with her priceless knowledge of the breed history and her experiences at Belco Farm. Working togehter, we are leveraging Rose Ellen's experience and archiving her amazing stories from Belco Farm.

Katerina is more to us than a European breeder; she is the amazing woman who whelped Emilia and Fiana. We are thankful to call her at friend of The House. Katerina is a person of integrity: a person trustworthy and rightfully proud of her lines. She takes great care, when she breeds, to choose the best temperaments and health; and she gives wholeheartedly to support her puppy homes in every way. As an advisor, Katerina has helped us with European methods for increasing milk production, arranging complicated import flights, and preparing pups with crate training, loud noises, and car-rides in advance of their travel. A true professional and outstanding inspiring woman, Katerina is a blessing to the world of Bouvs and to all who call her their friend.

Ryzmburk Kennel

FCI  is the largest international federation of national kennel clubs and purebred registries. Based Belgium, it has 98 member countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. We are fortunate, at the House of Bouvs, to have friends at FCI who serve as Bouvier judges and lineage advisors. They assist us in navigating breed lines, health heritage and even give insights on veterinary practices in Europe that may differ from what we have available in the United States.

Adam spends 3-5 days/week at The House: maintaining and designing whelping facilities that exceed health and safety laws and will endure forever! He's a loyal, reliable, skilled, jack of all trades and a friend to all the Bouvs. When Shana needs to travel, or if she takes a sick day, Adam is here for the Bouvs - and they LOVE Adam. We all do! He's our very own "Schneider" (One Day At A Time) helping to socialize the pups with the sound of his deep, gruff, voice and assortment of Ryobi power tools.

Cheryl is an expert craftswoman specializing in textiles and sewing. After our new Bouv homes began to request plushies with a heartbeat for their weaning pups and blankets with Mom's scent for going home, Cheryl created a purchasable, handmade, product that incorporates the best of both: Bouv Bones! Each Bouv Bone is individually made with your pup's mother's fur stuffed inside and custom designed using fabric you choose. These keepsakes are washable - but you won't want to do that right away! These Bones are pillows of comfort, sleep aids, that smell like Mom in their new home.

Lisa is a human resources professional by day and a long-time cat lover who fell in love with Bouvies over COVID. Her friendship with our founder began over 40 years ago and endured through college and their careers. Today, Lisa holds a special position of trust and hospitality with The House as she welcomes puppies into her home to meet their forever families. Lisa offers an awesome safe house, saving eager east coast puppy parents  hundreds in transportation costs and several hours of travel to/from The House.

The European contemporary to Jim Engel in the working Bouvier world, Pieter's experience with the breed and training diverges from his American counterpart. Equally insightful and informed by decades of hands-on training and breeding, from Pieter and the van Dafzicht lines we imported Wiseguy's semen (Spike's). Renown for being both a show and working (KNPV) champion, Wiseguy is the perfect capstone for Pieter's incredible life with Bouviers.

With over 40 years of experience in the American working dog scene, and with Bouviers, we highly recommend Jim Engel's book, Bouvier des Flandres: the Dog of Flandres Fields, as an outstanding academic discourse on the breed.
