1) Thoroughly socialize your puppy: The ideal schutzhund Bouvier should be confident, not aggressive, around unfamiliar people and in new situations. To achieve this, it is important to socialize your puppy from a young age. Expose them to different environments, people, and animals, and ensure they have positive experiences in these situations.

2) Begin motivational obedience and tracking training early: Start obedience and tracking training as early as possible to develop your Bouv's concentration and teach them that listening to you brings rewards. Use positive reinforcement techniques, such as treats or praise, to motivate your dog and make training enjoyable for them.

3) Train self-control daily: Teaching self-control is crucial in schutzhund training. Incorporate daily exercises that require your Bouvier to practice self-control, such as making them sit before meals, wait before exiting a crate or vehicle, or briefly sit or lie down before throwing a ball. These exercises help your dog learn to control their impulses and listen to your commands. Consistency is key in reinforcing self-control behaviors.
